Housing Typology – Render

Detail
This project transforms the former NIBC Bank building in The Hague into a modern residential complex, blending the existing structure with new housing functions. The concept of affordable luxury drives the design — offering high-quality spaces and materials within a cost-efficient framework. Using Grasshopper with various plugins, a parametric brick facade was created to follow the building’s organic form, optimizing material use while adding a distinct architectural identity. Protruding windows were oriented toward the sun to bring in natural light, improving comfort and reducing energy use. By combining smart design strategies with digital tools, the project shows how affordability and architectural quality can go hand in hand.
